Quick Facts: TxSU Alumni • Mom of 2 • 12th Year Coaching
Born in North Carolina and raised in Texas, Asia began playing volleyball at age 12 and started her coaching journey as an assistant coach during her senior year of high school at just 17 years old. Now entering her 12th year of coaching, she has had the privilege of working with athletes ranging from age 6 through the collegiate level.
Asia played NCAA Division I volleyball as a setter for Texas Southern University, where she earned All-SWAC Second Setter of the Year honors two years in a row. Her playing career deepened her understanding of competitive play, leadership, and team dynamics, while her coaching has given her the opportunity to help athletes develop skills, discipline, and confidence both on and off the court.
Volleyball runs deep in her family—her two sisters and brother all played as well—but her greatest joy comes from being a mom to her two daughters. When she’s not in the gym, she enjoys crocheting, reading, and exploring new interests.
